My name is Sarah Owen. I am an international student from Great Britain who is currently studying sociology and this is my senior year here at Ohio University. I intend on graduating at the end of spring quarter this year. I am an international swimmer I have represented Great Britain at the age of fifteen at the European Juniors which was held in Budapest. My second time was at the age of eighteen at Tri nations which was held in Canada. I am currently on the Ohio University varsity swimming and diving team.
I never really thought to much about my food, and what it says about me. I really enjoy all types of food, I also enjoy trying new foods just so that I can say I tried and I didn’t like it if that ends up being the case. I have never been fussy with the food that I eat; which can be a problem the reason for this is, because as an athlete I tend to eat a lot. I am very in to cooking my food I think this was called a foodie. I like trying to make new things we left over food I have; as a college student I tend to get creative if I cannot be bothered to run to the store.
I would have to say when it comes to my big cultural food it would be fish and chips (fries) and mushy peas this is a very traditional meal in England. It is something that I miss while I am here at college the reason for this because there is nowhere that I have found in America that makes fish and chips like I would get back home in England; which is very disappointing for me because this is one meal that I don’t think I could make. This was a very traditional Friday night meal that we would sit down as a family and we would eat it together, the one night that are schedules were not busy. This was my favorite night that is probably why I like this meal so much.
